Pomezia defies the virus “Vaccine – clinical trial already later this month”
Piero Di Lorenzo, CEO of Advent-IRBM, announces: “Testing on 550 healthy volunteers in England with vials produced by our company”
A coronavirus vaccine is going to be tested on humans. Clinical trial will start in England on 550 healthy volunteers at the end of April. This vaccine has been developed by Advent-IRBM from Pomezia (Rome) and the Jenner Institute of Oxford University. Making the vaccine available for medical staff and law enforcement in September is the goal. Matteo Liguori, Managing Director of IRBM, points out that “Sarah Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology at Oxford University […] has confirmed that clinical trials are starting in two weeks […]. We will send the vials we are producing in Pomezia later this month – Liguori adds – then there will be the clinical trial. If all goes well, vaccination in compassionate use will start in September. Even Italy could make it possible, but we need an institutional debate”.
